New York Knicks guards J.R. Smith and Iman Shumpert are
traded to Cavs in a 3-way trade involving the Thunder, Cavaliers, and Knicks.
The Knicks only get a 2nd round pick, and no other players. Adrian Wojnarowski
of Yahoo! Sports reported what the Knicks ended up with:
"Oklahoma City will give the Cavaliers a protected
future first-round draft pick and send guard Lance Thomas to the Knicks, league
sources said. As part of the trade, the Cavaliers will send rookie center Alex
Kirk, forward Lou Amundson and a 2019 second-round pick to the Knicks, sources
said. For New York, the deal is a salary dump to clear cap space.
The Knicks, now on a 12 game losing streak after a loss to
the Memphis Grizzlies Monday night (1/5/15), 105-83. We all have our opinions
on this trade, some saying it's good for money and some say it is a horrible
move and will only make the team worse.
How will this affect the Knicks' franchise? Find out as the
2014-15 season goes on.
